Montsaye Community Sports Centre offers a swimming lesson scheme for children as young as four years old. The Swim School programme runs from Stage 1 to Stage 7 of Swim England's Learn to Swim Programme.

Lessons last for 30 minutes each week and run for 50 weeks of the year. Lessons stop for two weeks over the Christmas period.

Why Choose Montsaye?

All lessons at Montsaye Community Sports Centre are taken by a qualified swimming instructor.

For stages 1/2, an assistant swimming instructor will also be present in the water.

We keep group sizes lower than other providers and the maximum ratio guidelines provided by Swim England. This is to ensure that learners receive more focused attention. This encourages them to make better progress.

We ensure that the pool is maintained at a very comfortable temperature. We also provide fantastic value for money in comparison to other local swimming lesson providers.

Lessons run between; 16:00-19:00 Monday-Friday and 09:00-12:00 Saturday-Sunday

All lessons use the latest CoursePro technology. You will see our instructors using tablets to mark your child's progress. You will be able to keep a track of this progress and the number of lessons you have remaining by logging into the CoursePro system. We are also able to offer a fantastic discount on our membership packages. This is exclusively offered to the parents of swimmers enrolled on our swimming lessons! For just £22.00 per month, you can enjoy a Gym membership and for £27.50 a Gym/Swim membership.

Intensive Lessons

During school holiday periods, we offer intensive swimming lessons.

The next intensive lessons are scheduled for WC 27th July 2026.

These are a great way to introduce swimmers to lessons or help improve a child's swimming. We aim to provide a variety of different stages to cater to as many swimmers as possible. Lessons are very competitively priced and are a little more individualised than normal group lessons.

Rookie Lifeguarding

RLSS UK’s Rookie Lifeguard programme is taught using fun, varied lifesaving and rescue activities to give children the skills they need to be confident in the pool or the sea and enjoy water safely, whether in shallow or deeper water.

For many of our Rookie Lifeguards, our programme offers the first opportunity to explore water safety, gradually gaining independence and confidence while learning vital life skills.

Swim School Students - FREE Swimming

Montsaye Community Sports Centre are pleased to provide the following special offer to our Swim School students.

FREE SWIMMING - All children who currently attend Montsaye Community Sports Centre Swim School, can swim in any General Swimming session for free.

* Fun & Floats is not included in this offer.

* Swim School Students - The following terms and conditions apply:

  • This offer applies to only the General Swimming sessions and not for any other session such as Fun and Floats.
  • The under 8's policy applies for this offer (Please see our under 8's policy listed in the Swimming Pool section.
  • Participants must be able to prove that they attend a current Montsaye Community Sports Centre Swim School Term.
  • Normal pool admission and poolside rules apply to this offer.

Refund Policy

We do not offer refunds or credits for missed lessons. Where long term injury or illness prevents you from attending, we encourage you to remove your child from the class for that period. We will endeavour to re-enrol them to their previous class when they resume subject to availability. Each case will be assessed individually

For swimmers leaving our scheme, credits may be transferred to a sibling where appropriate or redeemed against public swimming.
